In the book Purple Hibiscus, the narrator is a fifteen year old girl named Kambili and she is living a complicated life in Enugu, Nigeria. There family is very wealthy but her father is very abusive, religious, and strict. I find it interesting that all of her actions revolve around her father. She has to get amazing grades and has no friends because he is so strict. She and her brother Jaja are a lesser level of a slave. A scene is when Papa beats their mom and they both clean the blood up immediately.

I find it interesting that their whole church community finds him as "The Guy". Papa pays for the bakery that makes the communion bread, the cartons of wine, and for the new wing at St Agnes Hospital. He is seen as the good samaritan and the one who does amazing things for the community. Also it is interesting that the amount of praying and worship the family does is a lot. Almost always they pray for twenty minutes before their lunch.

In this case money matters and both candidates have plenty of money because they are both receiving so many donations. They have already raised 1.7 million and he had a huge donation of $250,000 from a supportive group. Nelson could win because he has a bank of his own. The downside was his background when he was a CEO of a healthcare company. He defrauded taxpayers and was asked to step down and leave the company. On November 25, 2017, the last weekend of the college football regular season was here. This was considered rivalry weekend. Alabama was playing the mighty Tigers of Auburn. Also, the LSU Tigers were playing the Aggies of Texas A&M. The Aggies were not a talented team but also had a very annoying fan base. The Wisconsin Badgers were ranked number five and were not in the college football playoff rankings.  The Badgers had a perfect season with no losses. The number four and three teams had one loss. The Auburn and Alabama game was a close first half. The second half was favored by Auburn. In a tough game, Auburn handed the Crimson Tide their first loss. Meanwhile, the LSU Tigers won against the Aggies and was not a close game. This was a good day because the Tigers won and the Crimson Tide lost.

Vocabulary Post

There are two shows I am watching on Netflix right now. Both of them have to do with a crisis that has happened to them. One has happened to the world and another just happened to a large group. There are leaders that have expressed  their ideas and plans to get through the problems. For example Jack is the main character of the show Lost. His plane has crashed on an island and he is the doctor. He makes almost all of the decisions but also listens to others. Also there is a down side to being a leader or chief. If there is a decision that a person doesn't like or a big group doesn't like, people will start to revolt . When people revolt decisions, things get complicated and nasty. An example in the other show, the Walking Dead, when people revolt they are either left or injured/killed.
