Lotf response

The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away.  Once there was this and that, and now--and the ship had gone. [... Jack refusing to give Piggy the floor when he has the conch...]
"The rules!" shouted Ralph.  "You're breaking the rules!"
"Who cares?"
Ralph summoned his wits.
"Because the rules are the only thing we've got!"
But Jack was shouting against him.
"Bollocks to the rules!  We're strong--we hunt!  If there's a beast, we'll hunt it down!  We'll close in and beat and beat and beat--!" (91)

This passage of the book was very interesting to me because the island has made a huge impact on them. Ralph has tried to make a set of rules so that there would be some kind of order. Jack and others have tried and successfully broken the rules without anyone one stopping them.

Ralph has had the rule to talk in an assembly when you have the conch. Piggy has tried numerous times to stop people from talking because he has the conch. While Ralph wants order and rule Jack wants the total opposite. Jack was to hunt and kill things, including people like a savage.
